This group continues to monitor and respond to the evolving situation. The county transitioned into a Recovery Phase on June 30, 2020. The Talbot County Council adopted an Emergency Declaration on Maafter the Governor of Maryland declared a State of Emergency and the President of the United States issued a Proclamation on Declaring a National Emergency Concerning the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Outbreak. Talbot County swiftly convened an Operational Working Group made up of officials from the Talbot County Health Department, Talbot County Emergency Services, Talbot County Government, University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, area law enforcement agencies, towns, and many other community partners. He has urged Marylanders to recommit to the simple steps that keep our loved ones and neighbors safe, and help conserve vital health care resources. While Maryland remains open for business at this time, the Governor has expressed concern about surging case and hospitalization numbers around the United States. The Maryland Health Department now has a vaccination website for public clinics in each county, with opportunities to pre-register with these providers at. Choptank Community Health System is providing vaccinations to its patients, and University of Maryland Medical System’s Shore Regional Health has an online portal to register interest in receiving a vaccination. Maryland has brought in other healthcare and retail providers to administer the vaccine.
